Part-Time Market Assistant (Barista Track)

We’re hiring a part-time Market Assistant/Barista to help expand our footprint across the Bay Area.

Locations:

  • Friday: St. Helena (transportation provided, 5:30 AM start)

  • Saturday: Oakland or Hayward

  • Sunday: Sausalito

Pay: $17.50/hour + tips
Typical total earnings: $22–$28/hour (base + tips)
Schedule: Friday–Sunday required

Who This Is For:

This role is not for everyone.

We’re looking for someone who is drawn to coffee in their own way and takes pride in how they show up to work. You should genuinely enjoy interacting with people and understand that connection requires effort. It takes awareness, timing, and the ability to read a moment.

You need to be comfortable working quickly, staying organized under pressure, and maintaining a high standard even when the line is long.

Reliability is non-negotiable. Early mornings, physical work, and consistent execution are part of the role.

You understand that this is performance-driven work. Strong service, speed, and awareness directly impact tips and overall earnings. Familiarity with the Bay Area's hospitality/food scene is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload equipment, inventory, and supplies (up to 50 lbs)

  • Assist in the setup of the market booth, including coffee equipment and display

  • Break down, clean, and pack all equipment after service

  • Support high-volume service alongside the owner

  • Engage customers, answer questions, and represent the brand

  • Handle transactions accurately (cash + POS)

  • Maintain a clean, organized station throughout the shift

  • Restock supplies and retail products during service

This can be fast-paced work. You will be on your feet for extended periods, working outdoors in varying conditions.

Growth Path:

  • Transition into a barista role after completing training and obtaining a ServSafe Food Handler Certificate

  • Opportunity to learn the coffee business beyond the barista role

  • Take on more responsibility as you demonstrate consistency and capability and transition into a more senior role
